Use this post as a head up to proactively hide unwanted updates using the wushowhide.diagrab troubleshooter instead of letting them collect dust unless you don't mind Microsoft/hp randomly deciding the download them in the background. Update: Ran up the win update show/hide troubleshooter in attempt to hide the update that was pending in restart, but could only hide the follow up bios update instead (15.28.0.0). Should I restart and yolo it or should I bother trying to cancel the pending installation?Īre these bios updates as bad as some posts say? As in braking compatibility with type c peripherals and such?Īnd also, if I specifically told hp support assistant that I am not interested in it pushing bios updates, what's even the point in that if HP can just shove them up my laptop through windows update anyway?
That is after months of it collecting dust in the "optional updates" menu while I'm purposefully ignoring it. I'm currently on F.18 on my aw0xxx, and win update had downloaded to the point of "pending restart" the 15.27.0.0 firmware version, presumably bios ver F.26 that I have only heard bad things about.
